Why use a celebrant for your ceremony
As I have gone on my training journey I have told people along the way that I am training to be a Celebrant. Most people immediately ask “what is a Celebrant?”
If they have heard the word it is generally associated with Funerals. Many people will have attended a Funeral where a Celebrant has led the ceremony rather than a Priest or Vicar. In these cases a Celebrant is often used as the deceased or the deceased’s family are not religious and preferred not to use someone from the Church.
However the Celebrants role is far from limited to that of Funeral or Memorial ceremonies.
